Dance, heart & mind is an initiative by Suhaee Abro to teach and explore with dance and movement.
The sessions and workshops take place virtually as well as physically; and they are offered in groups and also individually.
What is Dance, Heart & Mind?
● In simple words it is; movement meditation, holistic dancing, Improvisation, Connecting to yourself and to your body.
● Dance, heart & mind is a process of movement meditation and exploration that eventually leads to improvisation, contemporary dance and choreography, depending on who the participants of this process are, be it a session or a workshop.
● Understanding what is movement.
● Understanding how our body moves and what is our way of expression.
● Accepting and acknowledging our comfort zone and our body’s limits but also exploring what is beyond our body’s limitations.
● For those participants who eventually would like to explore with contemporary dance through these sessions, the next step after learnig to fully immerse ourselves into our body and movements is to begin exploring with and learning technical elements. Learning any dance technique is like learning a language which we speak through our bodies.
● In these sessions, the techniques that will be focused on will bring together several key elements of contemporary dance, such as torso and legwork coordination, spatial awareness, rhythmic accuracy and erratic changes in speed, direction and improvisation. These also include elements of Body, Energy, Space, Action and Time.
Who is this course for?
● Non professional dancers as well as professional dancers
● Anyone who wishes to reconnect with their body, emotions and thoughts through movement
● Who would like to tell stories and express through their bodies and dance
● Who feel the need to incorporate some movement practice in their body but don’t feel good with traditional exercises.

● Connect and become aware of our body, time, space and energies that surround us.

● To challenge ourselves and help us acquire our own movement vocabulary.
● To be able to dance, express ourselves and feel liberated.
Requirements: Participants are NOT required to have any previous experience in dance education or specific athletic training. The course is aimed at people from ages 6 and above.
